Let's imagine for a moment...You pull up to a company and plan on meeting with one of their Team Members about a possible partnership. You exit your car and head towards the building as a sprinkle of rain falls to the ground. They have a company sign, but nothing else on or near the building showing a logo or revealing any other information. As you get closer to the front door you look down to wipe your feet before walking in...nothing....no mat. You head into the building thinking there will be a mat inside to quickly wipe your shoes on, but no...nothing there either. As you look around the room you see that the floors you are standing on not only look worn, but are also covered in a thin layer of dust and dirt. You head towards the lobby desk and slip! The lady behind the desk and customers in the lobby rush to your aid, but it's too late. You've fallen and now look and feel awful before your meeting ever starts. Your first impression is set....what do you think?
Let's try that again...You pull up to a company and plan on meeting with one of their Team Members about a possible partnership. You exit your car and head towards the building as a sprinkle of rain falls to the ground. They have a company sign above the building revealing their name. As you get closer to the door you look down and notice a neatly placed entrance mat matching the blue color of the company sign. You wipe your feet so not to bring water into the building and head in. As you step into the building you notice you are standing on a custom logo mat placed right inside the entrance. The vivid colors and detailed fonts impress you. The mat is a perfect match to the company logo and appears tidy and freshly cleaned. You look around the room and notice the floor and lobby area appear shiney and dry. You're surprised by this being as it's raining out and there are several people in the waiting area. You head to towards the lady sitting at the desk feeling prepared and calm. Your first impression is set...what do you think?
The above senarios are just an example of the thoughts a potentioal customer or partner might be thinking when they enter a business. Do you think customers notice things like dirt, dust, and cleanliness when they come in your building? THEY DO! Facility services are more important than you might think!
