Customers Profess Their Love For The Microfiber Bar Towel

On February 7, 2011, SITEX decided to start converting their cotton bar towel customers to their new product, the microfiber bar towel

This product change needed to happen for many reasons:

  • The cotton bar towel did not have as long of a lifespan as needed.
  • Customers were limited on where they could use the cotton bar towel due to lint and the overall quality of the towel.
  • The microfiber bar towel turned out to be more absorbent than the cotton towel.
  • Also, cotton suppliers were constantly setting price increases in which SITEX could only take so much before they had to set increases themselves to their customers.

Since the launching of the microfiber bar towel in the Henderson/Evansville/Owensboro market area, customers having been raving about the new towel.  Jerry Maggard, District Manager of Henderson, states, “We have only had one customer decide they didn’t want the microfiber bar towel, and it was because they knew they couldn’t use it around hot surfaces.  All of the other customers love the new product!”

SITEX will be converting all of their customers from the cotton bar towel to the microfiber bar towel strategically throughout 2011.  We will definitely keep you posted on the status of this change as SITEX is setting the new trend in many markets with the introduction of microfiber.

Microfiber Looks to Outperform Cotton Bar Towels

With cotton prices skyrocketing recently, many companies are looking elsewhere for their towel supply.  To keep expenses in line for industrial laundry companies and their customers, many are looking to microfiber to help alleviate price increases.

When we really started looking into microfiber, here’s what we found…

  1. Microfiber has exceptional absorbency.  Microfiber has high density fibers that absorb 6 to 8 times their weight in water.
  2. Microfiber cleans all types of surfaces...wet or dry.
  3. Microfiber attracts and removes up to 5 times more dirt and grime than the standard cotton towel.
  4. Microfiber is truly lint free!  This eliminates shedding problems.
  5. Microfiber is a lighter weight towel.  It reduces storage requirements and is easier to use.
  6. Microfiber is easier and faster to clean.
  7. Microfiber helps with sanitation.  It removes bacteria with only tap water and eliminates messy buckets and mop water.
  8. Microfiber is non-abrasive.  It has exceptional polishing results and will not damage sensitive surfaces.

During extensive product testing at SITEX’s Henderson location, microfiber outperformed cotton in many different areas.  With the increases cotton companies are demanding and with microfiber becoming the new “hot” item, I bet you will start to see microfiber a lot more.
